What's New
Sugar Island Township has joined the EUPConnect Consortium, led by the Eastern
Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District for the expressed purpose of bringing Broadband internet to the residents of
Sugar Island. We are encouraged to know that the EUPISD recognizes Sugar Island as the most underserved area within the region.
Supervisor Eitrem has recently been named as a member of the EUPConnect Collaborative Steering Committee so our interests
will be represented.
The Sugar Island Township Board has approved the creation of a special account for the purposes
of developing and maintaining a playground for younger children on the east end of the Community Center. The Lion's Club has
already made a significant donation for this purpose. Individuals, groups, or businesses are encouraged to donate to
the Sugar Island Township, Attention: Playground Fund.
